Kildare Libraries have a 6-month trial of LOTE Online for Kids, an online database of digital books in World languages, that allows children to enjoy the magic of books in LOTE (Languages Other Than English) both in the library and at home. The digital picture books are available in multiple languages and in English translation to help with reading and literacy development. The database recommends books based on previous reading and the stories are suitable for ages: 3+
LOTE Online for Kids has over 1100+ digital picture books in over 40 languages, with new books and languages released each month – helping Kildare libraries to engage with multilingual families in our communities. Languages include Cantonese, Mandarin, French, Bengali, Hindi, Indonesian, Korean, Japanese, Gujarati, Marathi, Malayalam, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Tamil, Urdu and many more.
All you need to do to access the digital picture books is find LOTE Online for Kids on the homepage or here: https://www.kildare.ie/library/eServices/Other/ and have your Kildare library card number to log in.
